What this site saves on your device, and why. It’s a short list.

No cookies, no tracking
This site does not set any cookies. It uses no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and nothing on it follows you to other websites.
A few features save small settings in your browser’s storage, on your own device, so they work the way you left them. This storage works a lot like a cookie, and the same privacy law applies to it, so we list every item below.
Nothing is saved when you simply browse. Each item is saved only when you use the feature it belongs to.
What we save on your device

dg_player_id | A random player ID. It is sent to us with your score so a new personal best updates your leaderboard entry, and when you open the leaderboard so we can show your rank. | Post a score to the leaderboard. | Until you clear it |

None of these expire on their own. They stay on your device until you clear them (see below). Only dg_player_id and rr_voter_key are ever sent to us, as the table explains, and our Privacy Policy says how we use them. Everything else never leaves your device.
Why there’s no cookie banner
The law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, often called PECR) lets a website save things on your device without asking first when they are strictly necessary to give you something you have asked for.
Every item above is saved only after you use the feature it belongs to, such as choosing a text size, playing the quiz, posting a score or voting. It is used only to make that feature work the way you asked. None of it is used for advertising, analytics or tracking. That is why this site doesn’t need a cookie banner.
Other services and our store
Product pictures are loaded from Shopify, and vote counts from our database provider, Supabase. Neither of them saves cookies on your device when you use this site.
When you press a Buy button, you leave this site for our store at ricki-robin.store. The store has its own cookies and asks for your choices there. See the store’s privacy policy.
How to clear them
You can remove everything this site has saved at any time by clearing the site data for deansclassiccars.com in your browser. In most browsers you’ll find this in Settings, under Privacy, as “Clear browsing data”, “Cookies and site data” or “Website data”. Private or incognito windows clear it for you when you close them.
Clearing it resets your text size, animation setting, quiz settings and personal bests. Votes you have already made stay counted, but you won’t be able to take them back from that device.
